How many clothing items are tucked away in your closet just waiting for that one little alteration? You would tackle them, if only you knew how. Join Sandra and discover great alteration tips and tricks including attaching buttons or embellishments, shortening or lengthening hems and creatively patching rips and tears. Bring a few projects to work on in class. Basic sewing skills required.

- Thread
- Items that you would like to work on
- Scissors
- Sharp pencil or fabric marking pen
- Ruler
- Pins
- Seam ripper

Sandra S.Bengtson, owner of Avant Garb Fashions, was fortunate to learn how to sew by her mother at age eight. Decades later, Sandra’s passion for sewing has paved the way to fulfilling a lifelong dream; teaching others. As her mother did for her, Sandra is committed to spread her love of sewing. Sandra believes that providing a warm, inclusive classroom environment with fun and laughter, maximizes the learning experience and may even foster new friendships.
