Morris Bye 26-27Adventures PlusStudents must be enrolled and attending in the Anoka-Hennepin independent school district in order to receive Adventures Plus child care services. (We do not offer care to out-of-district students in our program. This includes families who live within the district boundaries but attend a charter or private school.) The program provides before- and after-school care at elementary schools during the school year, and school year schedule must remain consistent from week to week for the duration of your contract. All-day child care during the summer months at select school sites for students entering kindergarten through grade six in the upcoming school year, summer schedules are pick your day with a 20 day minimum requirement. Current School year 2025-26: registration is open for limited sites that still have some capacity. Most sites have a waiting list status or have closed registration due to the amount of students on the waitlist. If your student's school is not listed please call the billing office if you have questions regarding the 2025-26 School year placement. School year 2026-27 and Summer 2026 Registration Dates: Adventures Plus families (currently attending): Registration opened on Tuesday, FEBRUARY 17, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. Current family priority registration ended on March 11 at midnight. Families new to Adventures Plus: Registration opened on Monday, MARCH 16, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. School year sites and waiting lists will close as they fill to capacity. School Year 2026-27 & Summer 2026 seasons open at the same time and families will register for each season independently based on your family needs for School year and Summer care. Open swim time allows the opportunity for young swimmers to practice their skills, or just play and have fun. An adult is required to be in the water with children under the age of 7 (within arms reach) OR for swimmers who must wear a lifejacket to swim. Lap swim and water walking in the lanes will also be available during this time as space allows. Open swim includes: Shallow end use for all swimmers Deep end swimming for all swimmers (not wearing a lifejacket) who complete a swim test. Diving board usage - one diving board will be open for diving and forward jumping. Shallow end basketball hoop and basketballs Rings, noodles, etc. Please note: Goggles which over the nose (face masks or snorkeling masks) and inflatables are not permitted. Swimmers who need to wear a lifejacket may not go to the deep end, regardless of whether or not they have an adult/competent swimmer accompanying them. Drop-ins will be accepted if we have available space. The fee is the same as online, seven dollars. WE NO LONGER SELL PUNCH CARDS. HOWEVER: If you have ALREADY purchased a punch card, we will accept these if we have available space. They must be presented at the time of check-in. One punch for each person swimming will be deducted from the punch card. Pre-registration is encouraged, but we will accept drop-ins (depending upon capacity). It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. Prerequisites No skill prerequisites Child must be at least 6 months old to enroll Parent or other caregiver must accompany each child into the water and participate in each class Learning Objectives (Parent and Child Level 1 and 2 Combined): Learn to ask for permission before entering the water. Learn to expect adult supervision when near water. Learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner. Feel comfortable in the water. Explore submerging to the mouth, nose and eyes completely. Explore submerging in a rhythmic pattern completely. Explore buoyancy on the front and back position. Glide on the front and back with assistance. Perform combined stroke on front and back with assistance. Change body position in the water with support. Learn basic water safety rules and how to avoid water hazards around the home. Learn about the importance of wearing a life jacket and experience wearing one. Learn how to stay safe in, on and around the water, including knowing how to stay safe in the sun and how to avoid recreational water illnesses. Learn to look carefully before entering the water. Learn how to call for help and the importance of knowing first aid and CPR. Learn what to think about and do when exhausted or caught in a dangerous situation.
