Research shows that resistance training is crucial to maintaining muscle mass, especially as we age. Join us for a beginner chair-based class where we will use hand weights, resistance bands, and yoga balls while both sitting and standing to work every muscle group. No experience needed! Ageless YogaYogaAgeless Yoga is perfect for older adults. We will move through seated, standing, traditional and modified yoga poses with additional focus on stretching, flexibility, balance, and restorative breathing promoting stress reduction and relaxation. This class is shoe-and joint-friendly and we do not get down on mats. Dress in comfortable clothing, wear athletic shoes and bring water. You will need a sticky yoga mat for foot grip. Bone BoostersExerciseBoost your bones by adding strength training to your exercise routine! Strength training will build your bones and benefit your joints by strengthening the surrounding tissues, maintaining alignment to decrease wear and tear. We will use hand weights, resistance bands, and yoga balls for a total body workout. Participants must be able to get up and down from an exercise mat. Modifications will be provided for beginners and also those further along their fitness journey. Class includes balance training. Online participants need: Cushioned mat or surface, hand weights, resistance band, and yoga ball.
