After taking the Steve Rummler HOPE Network naloxone training, you’ll learn key info on opioids and current data on the opioid crisis, how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, what naloxone is and how it works to reverse an opioid overdose, the action steps when responding to an overdose and how to administer naloxone, protections provided by Steve’s Law, and where and how to get naloxone. Stop the Bleed is a program designed to empower bystanders to act quickly and save lives. During this class, you will learn three bleeding control techniques including direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application. No prior medical training required.
