AT/Rec - Learn the Sport of BMX Bike Racing - Spring
Intro to BMX Racing – Rum River BMX Discover the thrill of BMX racing! Our fun and inclusive Intro to BMX is designed for new riders that can pedal a bike—no prior experience or USA BMX membership required. BMX racing is a great way for kids and adults alike to stay active, build confidence, develop life skills, and most importantly, have fun! In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the sport, including, what BMX is, types of bikes, and safety. And yes—you’ll get on the track! Students will receive personalized riding instruction and get the chance to practice on our professionally maintained BMX course. No bike? No problem! We provide a fleet of HARO race bikes and full-face helmets in various sizes. All you need to bring is: Long pants- Long sleeves -Closed-toe athletic shoes Come ready to ride, learn, and connect with others in a positive, high-energy environment. Let’s hit the track! We’ll hit the Adams Nature Trail to track local wildlife, build cool projects, and discover the "hidden" nature living right at our school. Plus, for one of our sessions, an Anoka County Parks Naturalist will join our crew to show us the ultimate secrets of the woods! If you love digging into discovery and exploring the great outdoors, grab your sneakers and join the team! The final session on May 20, we will be doing a project and having pizza afterward on the picnic tables by the trail. This final session will release at 6:00. -

First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7–10 year olds. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Elem - Horsin' Around
Are you a horse lover? Learn how to care for horses, including what they eat and how to use the tools needed for grooming. Learn to lead, mount, dismount, start, stop and, best of all, ride! Helmets are provided. Check in from 5-5:15, class begins at 5:30 p.m. It is the parent's responsibility to provide transportation to and from Bunker Hills Stable. -
Elem - Learn to Ride: One Day Horse Camp
Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas, practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk, trot, and canter (depending on camper's riding experience). They also might make horse treats, learn how to lunge and play games. And don't forget the time to feed and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. All campers need to complete a waiver. (Waiver Link will be in your confirmation e-mail) Camp is held rain or shine, as there is an indoor barn and arena. WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. No flip flops. Sunscreen/hat/bug spray. Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch. Treats for the horses if you want. Helmets are provided. All available dates are non school days for K-12 Anoka Hennepin Students. -
