MS - Babysitter Training
Parents are looking for certified babysitters! Get a leg up on the competition with this American Red Cross class that prepares you for a wide variety of babysitting situations. Through hands-on activities, you’ll learn about the basic care of young children including safety and responsibility, age-appropriate activities and first aid. Boys and girls at least 11 years of age are welcome to participate. Class includes a comprehensive babysitting manual. Must complete the entire class to receive certification. -
MS - Babysitting 101
This course is best suited for 11 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, CPR, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants, and how to handle behavior problems. Students receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag, and first aid kit. This class is hosted on a non-school day, please bring a lunch and snacks as needed. -
MS - Bakery Wars
Do you like competitions? Team-up with friends, or make new friends in class, and let the fun begin! There will be multiple types of bakery products like cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and snack cakes to build fantastic creations. You will brainstorm ideas and then apply a base coat of buttercream icing to your cupcake. You will enjoy learning how to use and make an array of edible decorations to create a variety of designs for your masterpiece! Who can make the most unique creation? At the end of the class there will be a competition judged by a secret celebrity judge for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Who will win? -

In this competitive basketball league, players will learn the skills and strategies of basketball with an emphasis on participation, teamwork and safety. Based on registration numbers, A and B level teams will be formed based on each player’s skill level. Teams practice after school and compete against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Due to enrollment numbers and transportation scheduling, there may be times when parents/guardians will be asked to transport their students. Games will be on Thursdays: March 4, 11 and 18 and Wednesday, March 24 starting 4:00pm. NOTE: Parents/guardians will need to pick-up their student after competitions. There will be no return buses to home schools. -
MS - Boys Basketball Gr 7/8
In this competitive basketball league, players will learn the skills and strategies of basketball with an emphasis on participation, teamwork and safety. Based on registration numbers, A and B level teams will be formed based on each player’s skill level. Teams practice after school and compete against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Due to enrollment numbers and transportation scheduling, there may be times when parents/guardians will be asked to transport their students. Games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays: December 14, 16, 21 and January 6, 11 and 13 starting 4:00pm. NOTE: Parents/guardians will need to pick-up their student after competitions. There will be no return buses to home schools. -
MS - Boys Soccer
In this competitive soccer league, athletes will learn the skills and strategies of soccer with an emphasis on participation, teamwork and safety. Games will be played on a regulation soccer field using a 9v9 team format. Teams practice after school and compete against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Due to enrollment numbers and transportation scheduling, there may be times when parents/guardians will be asked to transport their students. Games will be on Wednesdays: September 23, 30 and October 7, 14 starting at 4:00pm. NOTE: Parents/guardians will need to pick-up their student after competitions. There will be no return buses to home schools. -
MS - Boys Tennis
Players will learn the skills and strategies of tennis with an emphasis on participation, teamwork and safety, while also having the opportunity to compete against an opponent of similar skill level. Teams practice after school and compete in matches against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Students should provide their own tennis racket. Northdale Only: Players will practice at Roosevelt Middle School. Parents/guardians will need to transport their students to Roosevelt Middle School after school for practice. They will still register for the NMS course section. All Schools: Due to enrollment numbers and transportation scheduling, parents/guardians will need to transport their students to ALL competitions. Games on Thursdays: May 6, 13, 20 and 27 starting 4:15 pm. -

Matches will be on Tuesday: May 4 and Thursdays: April 15, 22, 29 and May 6 starting 4:00pm. NOTE: Parents/guardians will need to pick-up their student after competitions. Come meet the Coon Rapids coaches and immerse yourself in a day of Falcon basketball. We'll touch up on all of the fundamentals; dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and team play. Do you have a ‘Sweet Tooth’? In this edible art class, you will have an opportunity to use a variety of supplies to create your delicious works of art! Learn how to pour candy coating into festive molds. Have fun dipping, swirling, and sculpting tasty treats. You can even add colorful candy sprinkles for a final touch. You will enjoy making a wide array of festive candy to take home and share with your family or friends, or even give as a gift to someone special! -
