PS - My Little Horse Camp (Parent/Child)Recreation and GamesCampers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of different horses and learn about how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. Camps are held rain or shine as we have an indoor barn and arena. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. Prerequisites No skill prerequisites Child must be at least 6 months old to enroll Parent or other caregiver must accompany each child into the water and participate in each class Learning Objectives (Parent and Child Level 1 and 2 Combined): Learn to ask for permission before entering the water. Learn to expect adult supervision when near water. Learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner. Feel comfortable in the water. Explore submerging to the mouth, nose and eyes completely. Explore submerging in a rhythmic pattern completely. Explore buoyancy on the front and back position. Glide on the front and back with assistance. Perform combined stroke on front and back with assistance. Change body position in the water with support. Learn basic water safety rules and how to avoid water hazards around the home. Learn about the importance of wearing a life jacket and experience wearing one. Learn how to stay safe in, on and around the water, including knowing how to stay safe in the sun and how to avoid recreational water illnesses. Learn to look carefully before entering the water. Learn how to call for help and the importance of knowing first aid and CPR. Learn what to think about and do when exhausted or caught in a dangerous situation. Refunds or make-up classes are not available for any missed classes. Any class cancellations must be made five business days in advance and will incur a $10 processing fee.Category -

Parents Forever-4 Sessions In-PersonPre-K to Grade 3 Parenting WorkshopsStarting SoonDivorce or separation can be a challenging transition that children experience differently than adults. The information shared in this course can help improve adjustments during this transition and give parents the tools to minimize stress for themselves and their children. Participating in a Parents Forever course will help caregivers: Describe the family transition journey and how each family member will be affected. Recognize the role of self-care, parent-child relationships, and co-parenting in child well-being. Identify and learn how to use resources and strategies that promote resilience for all involved. Parents Forever courses have been approved by the Minnesota Supreme Court. This series meets all 25 minimum standards required by Minnesota Statute 518.157 when parents attend all four 2-hour sessions. Parents Forever classes were developed by the University of Minnesota Extension as an educational program for parents of children ages birth through 18 who are going through a divorce or separation. This course is intended for one adult per family. If the other parent is interested in participating, we recommend enrolling in the Spring 2027 session.
