Elem - Instrument ExplorationDance/Theater/Music/Fine ArtsIn this class, students are given the unique chance to explore different instruments while building their performance skills. Over the course of this program, students will spend one week on the basics of each instrument - singing, guitar, drums, and piano - learning about instrument anatomy and beginner playing techniques, in addition to an introduction to music theory, song structure, and how to read music. In this small-group setting, the program ensures that every student receives plenty of one-on-one instruction while keeping the overall learning experience engaging and fun. Elem - Learn to Ride: One Day Horse CampRecreation and GamesKids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas (40-50 minutes, no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. All campers need to complete a waiver. (Waiver Link will be in your confirmation e-mail) Camp is held rain or shine, as there is an indoor barn and arena. WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. No flip flops. Sunscreen/hat/bug spray. Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch. Elem - Lincoln Lions Orchestra and BandDance/Theater/Music/Fine ArtsNew and returning students are welcome! Do you love music? Have you always wanted to play an instrument? In this class students will learn the fundamentals and basics of an instrument of their choice (see choices listed below) in a band or orchestra ensemble. Students will be grouped into two separate groups of strings and band instruments. The curriculum uses a combination of traditional teaching methods and modern songs to help encourage the students to practice and experience the fun of music. Students and parents will have access to the online student portal that helps them keep track of homework assignments and a fun practice log system with awards for minutes logged. The program culminates with a special evening performance for friends and family on Friday, March 19, 2027 at the Anoka Middle School Auditorium. On the concert date, students will stay after school and walk over to Anoka MIddle School for a final practice before our 5:15 pm concert. Students need to bring their instrument to every practice and the performance.Instrument choices for band: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone.Instrument choices for Orchestra: Violin, Viola, Cello Instruments: Students who are currently enrolled in Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts will have the option to check out an instrument from Ms. Whitcomb. If this applies to your child, please indicate the 1st and 2nd choice for their instrument on the registration form. We have a limited number of instruments available so register and request to borrow an instrument early for best selection.
